TUESDAY night saw four Denbigh Harriers take on the tough Clwydian Hills fell race at Moel Fenlli.

A route of approximately 2.8 miles with 1,300 feet of ascent saw runners climb nearly twice to the summit of Moel Fenlli - even members Dafydd Evans and Daniel Jones had to power walk up the climbs, but their fast descents awarded them with 15th and 16th positions out of 62 runners.

Having a superb run on home ground, and just six positions behind the lads, was Katy Baugh, coming in as first female in 22nd position.

Menai Baugh, enjoying the views in the glorious sunshine and the fast descent from the summit, finished 56th.

The Deganwy 5-mile Dash was held on Friday evening in memory of young Rohan Ingley, raising funds for his chosen charities.

The race starts and finishes on Deganwy promenade, along the Conwy estuary to the RSPB and back, over the footbridge twice and towards the castle. Conditions were humid for the 10 Harriers who ran in a field of 250.

There were great results by all, including three category wins by Fred Jones, Vic Belshaw and Emma Collins.

First Harrier to finish - and 30th overall - was Vic Belshaw in 34.29 and taking the first MV60.

Next was Emma Collins (41st) finishing a brilliant fourth Lady and first LV55 in 35.58.

Simon Nixon (47th) followed closely in 36.51, with Fred Jones (68th) taking the first MV65 spot in 40.12.

Helen Davies (106th) had a fantastic run to finish in 43.44, with Ian Jones (159th in 45.01) and Julie Roberts (225th in 57.56) also finishing strongly. The final three Harriers, Gillian Jones (243rd), Jessica Jones (245th) and Sarah Leverett (246th), finished within seconds of each other in 105.12, 105.16 and 105.17 respectively.

Harrier Dafydd Evans decided to take part in a Cumbrian fell race on Saturday whilst in the area visiting family - the closest one found was the Lakeside Gummers How Fell Race.

It was a 5k course with an 843ft elevation gain in a beautiful setting, which began and ended with a row across Lake Windermere!

Dafydd, having not rowed for about 15 years, came fifth out of 10 in a strong field of mostly Helm Hill runners in a time of 33.29.
