JUST four more points are required from Denbigh to make sure they will gain promotion from Division One of the North Wales Cricket League.

Now with the last remaining unbeaten record in the league this season, Denbigh made it 18 wins from 18 matches with a thumping success versus Conwy.

Third-placed Hawarden Park were beaten at Gwersyllt Park on the same day, which means Denbigh can experience a narrow loss this weekend and still secure promotion back to the top tier.

Once again, it was the bowlers who deserve the bulk of the plaudits.

Seven days after bowling Bangor Seconds out for 43, Denbigh were at it again as Conwy could only muster 44 all out at Ystrad Road.

No batsman managed to reach double figures and the main contributor to the tally was extras with 15.

The wickets were evenly shared among Denbigh's attack.

Opening bowlers Alec Lewis (3-23) and Ifan Jones (2-10) set the ball rolling in fine fashion, while Joe Lewis (3-6) and Harrison Jones (2-0) then finished things off.

Perhaps the only disappointment on the day was the fact Denbigh failed to gain maximum points.

Even so, they will be satisfied to have reached 48 for two inside nine overs.

Sam Lewis (14) turned out to be the day's only batsman to get to double figures.
