A GOOD chase just came up short for Ruthin over the weekend.
Looking for a Division Two victory in their home Division Two encounter with Bersham, Ruthin were just edged out by nine runs.
Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage's knock of 97 at the top of the order turned out to be crucial as Bersham set 189 for eight from their 40 overs.
Josh Duckworth, Oliver Jones and Jac Evans each picked up two wickets.
Ruthin batted out their 40 overs and reached 180 for five.
Murray Whitehead (71 not out), Matthew Duckworth (41) and skipper Jamie Hughes (38) were the main contributors.
