BALA Town showed their battling qualities to grab a share of the spoils in their latest spot of Cymru Premier League action.

Colin Caton's Lakesiders trailed visitors Penybont at the interval in their Maes Tegid meeting, but a second half response ensured that it finished up 1-1.

It was Rhys Griffiths' Penybont who made the better start in the battle of two sides who occupy spots in the top-six.

Just 10 minutes had elapsed when the visitors claimed the lead, with Kostya Georgievsky capitalising on a mistake to tap into an empty net.

Bala looked for a response and George Newell wasn't too far off target with his attempt.

At the other end, Alex Ramsay made a brilliant save from a header as Penybont looked to double their advantage, while Adam Roscrow went close to a leveller as his flick went just over.

Chris Venables had an effort saved for the Lakesiders, prior to Nathan Peate also being denied following his header.

Bala's positive play was eventually rewarded on the hour.

It was Adam Roscrow who did all of the hard work for the goal, however it was Luke Wall who gained the final touch from close range.

The three points were there for the taking and Chris Venables met a cross from the right, but could’t direct his header underneath the crossbar.

In a glorious chance in the last 10 minutes, Wall went so close to a second goal, only to see his effort go over the top from close range.

Bala had to be satisfied with a point, which keeps them in the top-three.
