A DENBIGH dartist recently experienced a week he will never forget as he made his television debut.

Dave Davies was invited to compete in the Portsmouth-based Modus Darts Super Series, which was shown live on YouTube and Sporty Stuff tv.

The first three days involved a group of six players, which included such names as 2004 PDC World Championship runner-up Kevin Painter and fellow Welshman and 2006 PDC UK Open finalist Barrie Bates.

Representing the Amateur Darts Circuit as Wales' top ranked player and current Welsh champion, Davies put in some fine performances to finish a creditable fourth position to move on into the latter part of the week into another group of six with a chance to make the weekend finals.

Davies once more produced some tremendous performances to put him on the cusp of the Saturday finals, even producing one of the best averages of the week with a fantastic 95 average in one match-up.

However, it was to be heartache at the final hurdle where three-time Lakeside champion Martin Adams defeated him in the final match of the group to push him out of the top-two qualifiers and just miss out on the weekend finals.

Davies would like to thank his sponsors Prompt Travel, Vernon Upvc & Joinery, AJ Field Electrical, NW Parcels & GMD forestry for their continued support.
