RUTHIN Town's hopes of achieving a top-four Cymru North finish were ended in their penultimate match of the league campaign.
Town needed a win on Easter Monday at fourth-placed Guilsfield to maintain their lofty hopes, but instead it was the Mid Walians who prevailed by a comfortable 3-0 margin.
After 25 minutes, it was Ben Guest who gave Guilsfield the lead.
Andy Ford then doubled his side's advantage with 20 minutes remaining and it was left to Steve Blenkinsop to put the gloss on Guilsfield's victory with his strike two minutes later.
Ruthin will end their league season at home to Conwy Borough on Saturday.
