Wrexham boss Phil's delighted with his latest additions

Gabonese international defender Ekomie made the move from French Ligue 1 side Angers and Kabore, who was on loan at The Racecourse last season, has arrived on a permanent deal from Manchester City.

“Isas was a very popular player with us last year and I think our supporters really warmed to him,” added Parkinson.

“The time is right in his career to get a home now. He’s had a lot of loan moves in his career, and needs to really settle down and establish himself as a player.

“But he’s got great energy and personality in the way he plays.

“Jacques is a player similar in many respects to him in the way he plays, and someone we’ve been working on for quite a while and faced quite a bit of competition to bring him here.

“He’s a profile of a player which suits what we want, obviously that’s why we brought him here. He’s got that power and strength which you need the higher up you go.

“Fans can wait and see if he gets the opportunity tomorrow, either from the start or the bench, or whether it’s during the week.

“Hopefully they’ll certainly see a player who’s committed.

“When you look at players and the games Jacques has played in against Paris Saint-Germain and similar players he’s come up against, you come up against some really, really powerful top players.

“They’re the games we judge him in. Obviously, I was able to see him last year against Paris FC.

“But the pace of the French game is, we feel, similar to what the Championship offers.”

Ekomie made 35 appearances in all competitions for Angers last season and he told the club: “I’m excited to be here. It is a very big and interesting project for me - I’m here to progress, and I’m very happy to be here.

“I want to achieve great things at Wrexham. I think it’s an ambitious project and I want to bring all my experience to help the team achieve our goals.”

On returning to Wrexham, Kaboré, who was top of the Reds assists list last season, setting up eight goals, said: “I’m very happy to be back. It feels good to be here again.

“Everybody knows our ambition is to get to the Premier League, and I’m here to fight for that promotion.

“I’m here to fight for this club, for our fans, and to give back the love everyone gave me last season.”

One of the two new arrivals could start tonight after George Thomason was ruled out for 10 weeks with a thigh injury.

“Right at the end, he broke forward, crossed the ball and he just felt his thigh,” said Parkinson on the player who made a great transition from central midfielder to left wing back last season.

“He tried to carry on, which when you do that you think, well, it’s probably not that serious, but unfortunately the scans are so in-depth now they pick up everything and unfortunately they said it’s a worse injury than we first thought. I feel it’s going to be 10 weeks.”

Thomason, who has started all three games this season, arrived from Bolton last summer and played in 39 games last term.

Parkinson also revealed that Josh Windass will be monitored ahead of kick-off but Ben Sheaf and Liberato Cacace are both ruled out.
