A BODY has been found as part of the search for a missing man.
John Hawkins, from Lymm, near Warrington, was last seen driving his black Mitsubishi L200 Warrior 4x4 car in Bala on December 12.
His vehicle was found burnt out on the Denbigh Moors near Bylchau four days later.
A friend of the family posted on Facebook: "It is with great sadness that John Hawkins has been found dead.
"His sister has asked that I share this awful news on the group page. Our thoughts are with the family on this tragic loss."
Cheshire police told the Free Press's sister paper - the Warrington Guardian - that John's family has been informed about the discovery in North Wales and are being supported by specialist officers.
The identity of the body will be confirmed once formal identification has taken place.
North Wales Police said they were unable to comment further at this time.
