THE return of a Vale of Clwyd event proved to be a real hit with residents and visitors.
After a break of three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the returning Ruthin Open Doors weekend was a great success.
Ruthin proved to be busy over the weekend as there was also a quilt exhibition at the same time, so visitors had plenty to see and the town was ‘buzzing’.
Twenty buildings were open as part of the Open Doors event and attendance figures are being gathered.
However, organisers know that St Peter’s Church had over 500 visitors, Clwyd Bank 250 and Ty Wynnstay around 450.

Fiona Gale, one of the organisers, said: "We were blessed with good weather which made a big difference.
"The event was opened by Ruthin’s mayor Cllr Menna Jones and deputy mayor Cllr Anne Roberts, and the opening was followed by the bell ringers in St Peter’s Church.
"Some of the outlying venues had less visitors and we need to promote those more in future as there is such a lot to see in the area."
Plans are already being formulated for the 2023 event in Ruthin, but first it's Open Doors Denbigh over the weekend of September 24 and 25.
