Denbigh awarded silver gilt in the RHS Britain in Bloom awards

A month after receiving a gold award at the Wales in Bloom awards, Denbigh in Bloom has achieved even more success.

The group has been awarded silver gilt in the RHS Britain in Bloom awards ceremony, which was held in Lindley Hall, London.

Denbigh in Bloom volunteers Delyth and Llifon Jones attended the ceremony on behalf of all the group's volunteers.

Last year, Denbigh in Bloom was asked by the judges of Wales in Bloom if it would help represent Wales in this prestigious event.

Alongside Prestatyn, who also gained silver gilt (large town) and Talgarth (village), who got gold, Denbigh was the only town in Wales to be put forward.

Denbigh in Bloom chair Lyndsey Tasker said: "We are immensely proud of our award in this competition, especially considering the groups who enter and their impeccably high standards.

"It's great thanks to all the people who have volunteered their time and energy to Denbigh that we have achieved this high level in Britain in Bloom.

"This couldn't be done without each and every one of them along with all our planter sponsors, and the donations from members of the community.

"Thanks too go to Denbigh Town Council for their generous contribution."

Back in July, Denbigh in Bloom hosted two RHS Britain in Bloom judges.

One of them - Richard Budge - was put into the Denbigh stocks on Vale Street!

Hard work on displays has been continuing over the autumn.

Earlier this month, the group's winter plant-up took place, with Denbigh in Bloom clearing out the summer displays, taking down railing baskets and then filling remaining planters with winter planting.

Next year promises to be a magnificent one for the town.

On Friday, September 8, 2023, Denbigh will play host to the Wales in Bloom awards ceremony.
