ABOUT 130 trucks from far and wide will travel through Ruthin with all their lights blazing and horns sounding to raise money for charities.

Convoy of Lights Ruthin takes place on 5pm on Saturday, December 9.

The convoy will leave the livestock market and turn left to head past Glasdir before heading onto the roundabout by Tesco.

They will then head past B&M, turn right up Well Street and over square, down Clwyd Street to the Park Place before going along Denbigh Road back to the livestock market to disperse.

Phil Hazel, who has launched a gofundme page, said: "Every year 130 trucks from far and wide give up their time to convoy through Ruthin with all their lights blazing and horns a sounding to raise money for local charities.

"This year we thought we would open a go fund me page to try and gain a little extra for the local charities.

"Any amount will help us raise that little extra.

"Let’s try and beat last years donations."

The the event is supporting two charities: North Wales Superkids and Neuro Therapy Centre.

Phil added: "This event takes hours and hours of organising by volunteers and every year everyone comments on how amazing it is - please please please think about donating to these amazing local charities."

In 2022, about 150 vehicles were on show at the popular event.

One American truck travelled all the way from Kent for the occasion, with others coming from Anglesey, Shropshire and Cheshire, in addition to those from the Ruthin area.

Participating in the event were trucks, vans and even a couple of vintage tractors!
