DENBIGHSHIRE'S Amber Davies is favourite to make it to the final of Dancing on Ice.

West End star Amber and her partner Simon Proulx-Sénécal achieved the highest score of the series so far, with 35.5 for their Revolting Children from Matilda routine.

They delivered on their promise to include the infamous headbanger move in the routine.

The former Love Island contestant, who grew up in Denbigh and attended Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St Asaph, has been consistently at the top of the leaderboard since the show started.

She has received much media attention too, with several tabloids predicted she would be starring in Coronation Street when the skating show comes to an end.

However, Amber said she had no plans to swap the ice for the cobbles, and would be returning to her breakout role in the tour of the Pretty Woman musical later this year.

Amber's mum and nan, Susan Davies and Jeanette Griffiths, have been travelling to the purpose-built rink at Bovingdon Airfield near Hemel Hempstead, to watch and support her.

Highlights have included Amber and Simon being transformed into Barbie and Ken, which Amber described as her "Best day eve".

There was a twist in the Musicals Week show with a double elimination that saw both Roxy Shahidi and Lou Sanders skate off the ice for good.

According to Betfred, the three stars tipped to make the final are:

  1. Amber Davies
  2. Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards
  3. Adele Roberts

Betfred showbiz specialist, Kayley Cornelius said: “Since the start of the series, the competition for this year’s show has been fierce but there has been one star that has stood out from the rest of the crowd.

“Fan favourite Amber Davies shines as the standout star of this season's competition as she’s managed to captivate both judges and viewers with her unparalleled talent.

"From her touching routine to ‘What Was I Made For’ by Billie Eilish during Movie Week to her fun and daring ensemble to ‘Revolting Children’ from Matilda during last week’s Musical Week, Davies appears to outdo herself every week as she shows her versatility as a dancer.

"Currently holding the joint top score for the competition of an amazing 35.5, I think it’s only a matter of time before we see Amber and professional partner Simon Proulx-Senecal score the first perfect 40 of the show and skate their way to the final."

They added: “Another star I believe we could see in the final is Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards as he continues to soar through the competition with his electrifying presence and sheer determination. Eddie is no stranger to the ice, nor competition, which he proved during his debut performance to ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ by Bon Jovi which set the tone for the competition. Eddie is an amazing performer and brings so much fun to the competition, losing is not in his nature and I have no doubt he’ll do what it takes to make it to the final.

"He certainly won't go down without a fight!

“Alongside Amber and Eddie, I think the third star to make the top three is going to be radio personality Adele Roberts. Despite the personal challenges Adele has faced since the start of the series, it hasn’t stopped her from bringing stellar performances to the ice each week. Roberts has shown unwavering dedication to the series as she continues to mesmerise the audience with her natural grace and infectious enthusiasm. It’s clear Adele has won the hearts of the nation and I’m confident that the fans at home will be backing her to make the final.”
