DANCING on Ice's Amber Davies has responded to tabloid rumours that Coronation Street bosses have created a dream role for her.

The Daily Mail reported that the former Ysgol Glan Clwyd pupil would be joining the soap as a "lead character" after her stint on ITV's Dancing on Ice.

A source reportedly told MailOnline: "This is like a dream come true for her. Amber can't believe it, she is so excited."

However, Amber took to her Instagram stories to respond to the articles.

Amber told her 1.3m followers: "Not family members messaging me asking am I going into Corrie. I have NO IDEA where this has come from but it’s absolutely false!"

She added that, after Dancing on Ice, she would return to her celebrated role as Vivian in the Pretty Woman musical.

The claims came days after Amber channelled Barbie for 'Movie Week' on the skating show, sealing her place as one of the favourites to win the series.

Amber, of Denbigh, and her pro-skater partner Simon Proulx-Sénécal, were the second couple to make it though to next week's show.

S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt, who had a “nasty fall” during rehearsals, left the show after the public vote.

Amber and Simon scored an impressive 31.0 and topped the leaderboard after their performance to What Was I Made For? by Billie Eilish.
